Our Making Tax Digital Service helps sole traders and landlords manage digital records, meet MTD requirements and submit accurate updates to HMRC using compatible software.
MyIVA takes care of the technical side, making digital tax reporting simple and stress-free.
Making Tax Digital for Income Tax changes how sole traders and landlords keep their tax records and report their income to HMRC. From 6 April 2026, MTD applies to sole traders and landlords with qualifying income of more than £50,000. This limit is due to reduce to more than £30,000 from April 2027 and more than £20,000 from April 2028.
If you need to follow MTD rules, you will have to keep digital records of your income and expenses. You will also need to use compatible software to send quarterly updates to HMRC and complete your tax return at the end of the tax year.
For those used to dealing with Self Assessment once a year, MTD may feel like a change. MyIVA can help you keep your records up to date, manage your quarterly updates and stay on top of your tax filing throughout the year.
Keeping digital records, tracking income and expenses, choosing compatible software, and meeting quarterly deadlines can become time-consuming. Our MTD service gives you practical support at each stage, helping you stay organised without managing every requirement yourself.

We help you keep your self-employment income and expenses organised digitally and prepare your quarterly updates, making MTD easier to manage alongside your day-to-day work.

Keep your rental income and property expenses organised with a straightforward digital process designed around your landlord tax requirements.

Regularly updated records can give you a clearer picture of your income, expenses, and tax position during the year instead of waiting until the end of the tax year.

Stay on top of quarterly update deadlines and other important tax dates with organised processes and timely reminders.
Managing MTD can take time, particularly when you are unfamiliar with digital tax software or quarterly reporting. MyIVA takes the pressure off by helping you manage the process from digital record keeping through to submission.
Your quarterly updates are summaries of your income and expenses, rather than replacement tax returns. At the end of the tax year, you still need to submit your tax return and pay any tax due by the relevant deadline.
With MyIVA supporting you throughout the year, MTD becomes a regular process rather than another tax task to worry about.
